The Shakitman truck was the mainstay of the armed forces of India. Build under license from MAN trucks of Germany. This was a rugged truck and in latter years could be also seen in civilian duty. These were found everywhere in India
Here is a picture I found of an old Tank steam engine. I remember just such a one at the Rourkela Steal plant during its construction state in late 1958
Road rollers were everywhere in India, parked in all sort of spaces, as the country was busy building roads and plants in the 60's. the road roller has always been a favorite of mine. Here is a picture of one.

Here are two ambassador two-tone cars parked at the Hindu temple on the lower deck.
The Ambassador car manufactured by Hindustan Motors was a classic Indian Car. It reigned supreme for over 40 years. An ideal car for road conditions of India, it was mechanically simple and could easily be maintained with loo-tech service. My family over the years had numerous if these, starting in Late 50's. These cars used to last and last, it was not unusual to find 25 year old models working as Taxis. Here is a picture of a superb condition in two-tone paint.
Here is a picture of a Massey-Ferguson tractor on the small far area on the lower deck of my layout.
Massey-Ferguson tractors were the first widely produced tractors in India. These could be found in the 1960's and 70's throughout India. Only the prosperous farmers could afford them and many were used to transport people by towing a long open flat-bed trailer; they were all only available in Red. I have a few on my layout in HO scale. Here is a picture of the real thing
