A very long goods train has been stranded due to locomotive malfunction. the non-operational loco has been removed and sent to the shed. A WGD4D is sent from Bombay yard to rescue the train. Note the operation of switch (point), before the locomotive backs up to hook up the goods train.
Track Maintenance at Bombay Yard
Here a Motorized Crane and a Tamping Machine are maintaining a track at the Bombay Yard. They start out and then reverse to run a second pass on the track.
WDM2 consist on an incline with a WDM3D banker
Here two WDM2's have a very long goods train up a steep grade helped with a WDM3D banker. The banker un-couples after the grade and the two WDM2's take loop around the upper deck of my layout
Central Railway T class (2-6-2T) builds a goods train
Here a T class builds a goods train shunting between three tracks using a three way switch (point) [ one tracks switches to three), it attaches various freight wagons. Note the movements of the points as it switches tracks.
WCM1 & WDM2 operations
Here a WCM1 is pulling a passenger train up the steep grade and a WDM2 is hauling a goods train down grade. the advantage of DCC you can rum multiple trains at the same time.
In steam era locomotives had to be turned around to head trains. This was achieved by using a turntable. Here is a video of turntable operations on my layout at the Bombay yard with a WP steam locomotive..
