New Layout DCC
For the new layout, I am upgrading my DCC equipment. The new CS (Command Station) is an ESU ECoS 50210. which has two fixed throttles. Additionally I have upgraded to a WIFI throttle from ESU 50114 Mobile Control II which runs Android operating system
Upper deck will have a separate 8 Amp booster ESU ECosBoost 50011
As Still have number of Digitrax throttles I am adding an ESU 50097 L.Net convertor which allows me to use existing Digitrax Loconet equipment with the new ESU system. Most turnouts are now controlled with SMAIL motors which have the Tortoise motors with a build in DCC decoder.
The track design has two multiple reversing loops, here the locomotive can short as polarity on the rails change. I use PSX-AR Auto Reverser from DCC Specialities to reverse polarity automatically. New layout also has a Helix to go from one level to the next
Old Layout DCC
The layout used 'Digitrax' DCC system. DCC setups consists of a DCS200 8 Amp DCC Command Station & Booster plus a DB200 OPTO 8 Amp DCC Booster. The layout was divided into five electrically isolated districts using DCC Specialties PSX DCC Circuit Breaker for five Power Districts.
It used DT402D Duplex Radio Equipped Super Throttle and a DT402R Simplex Radio Equipped Super Throttle to control the locomotives and switches.
The switches were powered by Tortoise switch motors and some Cobalt switch motors. Each Switch motor is controlled by Digitrax Quad DS64 Stationary decoder and I also use Team Digital SRC16 Switch & Route Controller.
A Tam Valley Depot "DCC booster for Power Districts" to control and power my turnouts and turnout motors.
The interface from 'Digitrax LocoNet' to the PC JMRI system uses 'LocoBuffer II' USB device.
Future plans include installing sensors and 'semaphore signals' I am currently building a Control Panel using the JMRI PanelPro software. This will enable me to auto operate my trains from a PC which is in my 'Train Room'
I program my DCC enabled locomotives using 'SPROG 3' DCC controller on a Marklin Rolling Road, this enables me to change the various Configuration variables on the locomotive decoders as well as customize the operation of the locomotive.
The track design has two reversing loops, here the locomotive can short as polarity on the rails change. I use three PSX-AR Auto Reverser from DCC Specialities to reverse polarity automatically.
